Our breeding program focuses on both soundness in mind and body. We believe that the Chihuahua's nature is just as important as the body type. The Chihuahua has for too long been known as a barkey, nippy little dog. This is not so in our lines. Our Chihuahuas only bark when "intruders" come into the house. Temperment is definitely inherited so we strive to produce good sound dogs.

Our breedings are planned well in advance. We always compare pedigrees, and the strong and weak points of each dog. By doing this we can produce very typey puppies. We breed as close to the AKC breed standard as possible. We really like the looks of Chihuahuas with strong Stonehill and Ouachitah lines, so most of our dogs do have these lines in their background. All of our Chihahuas are also checked for health problems before being bred each time.

We are strong believers in a free whelping line. Our females come from this background. Free Whelping is much easier on the females and the puppies. We believe that the kind of body structure in females that is needed to free whelp is an inherited trait.

All of our puppies are born here beside my bed and are well socialized from the time of birth. It is very important that the Chihuahuas get well socialized early on, so we want to make a strong imprint on their lives as babies. My kennel size is very small so that I am able to give each and every one as much attention as they need. We also take our Chihuahuas with us to many places. Even some restaurants allow us to bring them in because they are so well behaved!

Most of all, we just want our Chihuahuas to be happy and healthy, and be loved for all of their lives.
